The European Union (EU) is one of the greatest political achievements over the past twenty years, having been formed by the Maastricht Treaty, which entered into force on November 1, 1993. The treaty was designed to enhance European political and economic integration by creating a single currency, a unified foreign and security policy, and common citizenship rights and by advancing cooperation in the areas of immigration, asylum, and judicial affairs.
However, in recent years, attempt to ratify this treaty into a formal common constitution has been met with disinterest and in some cases open hostility by the citizens and representatives of individual European nations. As a result, the future of the European Union as it presently stands is in some jeopardy.
The problem of the present-day European Union is that by its nature it represents not an aspirational, nor higher function entity but a compromise and impost to most Europeans. Instead of delivering real and tangible improvements in the standard of living for most Europeans, the EU has become a kind of "club of protectionist interests" that have plagued reform and stifled growth. Since the formation of the European Union, unemployment has remained stagnant and in some cases worsened, rather than improved.
It is no wonder then that the average intelligent thing European regard the EU as a failure and something that does not deserve to be enshrined in a constitution.
The Euro-Union and the reformation of the idea of a single-better Europe
In contrast, the UCADIAN model holds out a lifeline to both those who wish to see the progress of a single Europe and those what hope for something better. Instead of a poor compromise institution, the Euro-Union represents a truly remarkable and inspirational institution.
Firstly, by the reforms proposed to the United Nations (U.N.), the Euro-Union shall be a permanent member of the General Assembly and the reformed supreme body, the Supreme Council.
Secondly, the Euro-Union is given a proper constitution and framework designed to deliver real economic reform and benefit by eliminating institutional corruption and wastage.
Thirdly, the Euro-Union will be instrumental in assisting in global reform and the elimination of world poverty, conflict and weapons of mass destruction, including the creation of the Global Defence Network (protect-the-earth.org) and the long term mission to bring life to the surface of the planet Mars.
Prosperity and jobs will quickly flow through to every nation in the Euro-Union because the organisation truly represent the very best, rather than the very worst of compromises
